of North America
The Geodetic Center of North America is about 40 miles south of Lebanon, Kansas, at Meade's Ranch. It is the beginning point of reference for land surveying in North America.
This center was located in 1901 by the U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey. This point should not be confused with the geographical center described
above, which is about 42 miles to the north in Smith County.
