Fun Timeshare Facts

The first timeshare was at a ski resort in the French Alps during the 1960s. The resort developer advertised his idea with the slogan, “No need to rent a room. Buy the hotel. It's cheaper!”

There are currently 5,500 different timeshare resort companies globally.

Florida has the most number of timeshare resorts in the United States with 380 and counting. South Carolina is second with 119.

Timeshares are located in 90 different countries worldwide.

There are approximately 6.7 million timeshare owners on the planet, providing a collective 10.7 million weeks.

In the United States alone the timeshare industry supplies 565,300 people with full and part-time jobs.
